When i turned 21 last January ( hint for next years birthday present ^_^ ) , the first, in fact the only thing I wanted to do was to register as a eligible voter. I really love the election process and its hoooHaa surrounding it. I don’t know how, I certainly don’t know when it started in me to have this interest in politics. But it surely does play a major part and role in me.

[kml_flashembed movie=”http://www.malaysia-today.net/2007images/voter.swf” height=”130″ width=”190″ /] I may have some weird political stand, really..it’s weird, its a mixture of Socialism and Communism with a blend of democracy, maybe in the future before I die I may be able to write a book on it ( as if..) Well, yeah back to the story. It was in the early Jan ( for those uninitiated, my birthday falls on New Years day keke :p ) , and I thought I would have all the time in the world to register. But what do you know, it was almost end of March, yet to register myself.

There are talks going on that you would need to register by end of March to be able to cast your vote the next election, but I never cared, Im being one of those millions of youth in Malaysia turning the blind eye , ” Tutup mata sebelah”. But you know, I wanted to go to post office the other day, it was full. And yeah I only have like one-hour lunch time break…so it went on and on..delays followed by laziness..

It was on that very innocent Wednesday evening, I heard they have this great pasar-malam at my new apartment place , so what the heck, I have something to attend at 8.30, and it is now 6.30, 2hours to go. So I decided to take a walk and checkout the great pasar malam, looking forward for the Malay kuihs that I am yearning to eat. And the first stall to greet me was none other than Election Registration booth ^_^

Yeap, I didn’t have to wait for the long queues at Post Office , just wait there for 4minutes, gave out my IC, they made a copy of it, and the form was filled by one Ng How Do of Pusat Khidmat Kawasan Wangsa Maju , and walla! Im done. He gave me a copy of the registration form and explained to me that they are volunteers of MCA Youth and are registering voters. I was afraid if it will be used by ’some party’ as a ‘undi hantu’ kekeke, but he showed me his SPR cards and the cop rasmi, so yeah I was convinced enough.

In another 3months, I can check my status if I am registered at spr.gov.my . Can’t wait for it! HOW ABOUT YOU?

First got the news through ShernShiou, who of course being a loyal reader of Lowyat.net And then heard all the police siren and can see the crowd across the street. Damn why didn’t Alain Robert climb Tower 1 instead. At least can see him climbing in front of me. Hahaha.

According to Novin, he was invited to do some ‘charity’ climbing in Sabah. Owh yeah, cool heh? But he did climb all the way to 60th floor. Wow, should just give him the chance of climbing to 88th :p Then maybe can do ‘free fall jump’ like Putera UMNO …wakakakka~

And it is now fully official. I have my own blog domain.
It has been a long time dream but I tink now is the best time, since it has been a hectic and demanding period in my life for the past 4months. A brief and short look at what has happened the last 3-4 months.

December :- Joined duty for my Internship, yes, I am doing my Industrial training here in KL now. And it will be a 8months long stint here, so I must make use of the time fully.

January :- Am now an adult, young adult as it is known, no longer another kid in the block, and I can cast my vote (damn , lupa nak register, and what’s with  the talk of registering before 31st March ) Made some extra bucks and all of it which is missing , can’t recap where I am spending money, where it goes and to whom ^_^  . Owh, shall discuss it in future, but to give a brief heart-attack, I attended a PAS-event . YES, I strolled down the long road filled with pasar-malam folks, selling everything from Taliban-supporting CDs to why UMNO shouldn’t rule Malaysia. -_- And it struck me at that moment, how all the eyes there were staring at me, obviously as I am the only Indian ,walking all alone, like the Maxis duck joining yellow-Digi ducks. Argh, shall be another matter of discussion in future.

February :- A really important phase in my life. Marks my entry into political foray directly and not just another observer, I have met Ministers, and even had exclusive dinner with one Deputy Cabinet Minister so kinda glad that I realised one of the goals I set before coming to KL for my intern; to meet politicians and the ‘insiders’  . The rest, is SECRET , don’t feel like talking on it.

March :- Aaaww, so fast time flies off. its March, and yet I did not receive my pay for February yet BIROKRASI !!
