Am sure we all hate smelly stuff..as in those with bad bad bAAAad stench! imagine going to a public toilet to find the best aroma you can most probably find in Hell!. Sucks. And the problem exist alot here…the civic conscious society whom we claim to be are not really that..er..civilized i suppose :PBest if we are to do for some functions, especially if its a business function, just to find ourselves meeting a person with a smell! Heck, its worst if you are the one with the smell! Ahaha…get urself some nice fragrance. Hugo Boss or Christian Dior would be recommended, but if you need to look at the available choices first, head on to the new perfume blog . Got plenty of choices and info over there.

அடுத்த மார்ச் மாதம் நடைபெறும் மஇகா  தேர்தலில், தலைவர் பதவிக்குத் தாம் போட்டியிடப் போவதாக அக்கட்சியின் மூத்த அரசியல்தலைவர் எம் முத்துப்பழனியப்பன் இன்று அறிவித்துள்ளார்.

“இது தொடர்பாக மஇகாவிடமிருந்தும் இந்திய சமூகத்தினரிடமிருந்தும் அமோக ஆதரவையும் ஆசிகளையும் நான் பெற்று வருகிறேன்”, என்று மலேசியா கினியிடம் அவர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

கடந்த 30 ஆண்டுகளாக தலைவர் பதவியில் இருந்து வரும் சாமிவேலுவுக்கு எதிராக தாம் போட்டியிடப் போவதாக நேற்று அந்த முன்னாள்  மஇகா உதவித் தலைவர் தெரிவித்தார்.

அவரது கருத்தின்படி, கட்சி மற்றும்  இந்நாட்டில் உள்ள இந்தியர்களின் சமூக -பொருளாதார நன்மைக்காக போட்டியிடுவதென தீர்மானித்துள்ளதாக கூறுகிறார்.

“மஇகாவுக்கும் சமூகத்துக்கும் நான் மாற்றங்களை கொண்டு வருவேன்,” என்றவர் உறுதி வழங்கியுள்ளார்.

சமுதாயத்தின் பல்வேறு நிலைகளில் உள்ளவர்களை ஐக்கியப்படுத்தி வலுப்படுத்த வேண்டியதன் தேவை உள்ளதாக 68 வயதான சிரம்பானில் அலுவலகத்தை கொண்டுள்ள அந்த வழக்குரைஞர் கூறினார்: “ஒற்றுமை வெற்றியின் திறவுகோல்.”

மேலும், கட்சியிலிருந்து வெளியேற்றப்பட்ட மஇகா தலைவர்களையும் உறுப்பினர்களையும் மீண்டும் சேர்த்துக் கொள்வதற்கும் மூடப்பட்ட கிளைகளுக்கு புத்துயிரூட்டுவதற்கும் அவர் சூளுரைத்துள்ளார்.

இதுதான், கட்சிக்கு புதிய தோற்றமளிக்கும் நடவடிக்கையின் அர்த்தம். வெவ்வேறு அணிகளை ஒன்றாக திரள செய்வதற்கு தம்மால் முடியும் என்றும் அவர் கூறுகிறார்.

1979ஆண்டு மத்திய செயலவைக்கு முத்துப்பழனியப்பன் முதல் முறையாக தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டார். அதே ஆண்டு நெகிரி செம்பிலான் மஇகா தலைவராகவும் இளைஞர் அணித் தலைவராகவும் நியமிக்கப்பட்டார்.

1980ல் அவர் செனட்டராக நியமிக்கப்பட்டார். ஈராண்டுகளுக்குப் பின், சி ருசா சட்டமன்ற உறுப்பினராக தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டார். அதை தொடர்ந்து நெகிரி செம்பிலான் ஆட்சிமன்ற உறுப்பினராக நியமனம் பெற்றார்.

1987லும் 1991லும் உதவித் தலைவர் பதவிக்குப் போட்டியிட்டு தோல்வி கண்டார்.

1997ல் உதவித் தலைவராக தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டார். ஆனால் 2000 ஆண்டிலுல் 2006 ஆண்டிலும் நடந்த தேர்தலில் அப்பதவியைத் தக்க வைப்பதில் தோல்வி கண்டார்.

“சாமிவேலுவை எதிர்த்துப் போட்டி”

நேற்று, கட்சியின் உச்சப் பதவிக்குத் தாம் போட்டியிடப்போவதாக  முத்துப் பழனியப்பன் விடுத்த அறிவிப்பு, “மஇகா அரசியல் குழப்பங்களிலிருந்து விடுபட்டுள்ளது” என்ற சாமிவேலுவின் கூற்றுக்கு ஒரு பலத்த அடியென பெர்னாமா செய்தி வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.

கடந்த இரண்டு வாரங்களாக உறுப்பினர்களையும் அடித்தட்டு தலைவர்களையும் தாம் சந்தித்துள்ளதாயும், அவர்களிடமிருந்து “ஊக்கமூட்டும் ஆதரவு கிடைத்துள்ளதாயும்” அந்த தேசிய செய்தி நிறுவனத்திடம் முத்துப் பழனியப்பன் கூறியுள்ளார்.

“மஇகா, தேசிய முன்னணி மற்றும் மலேசிய இந்தியர்களின் நன்மைக்காக சாமிவேலுவை எதிர்த்துப் போட்டியிட வேண்டும் என நான் கருதுகிறேன்.”

வரும் மார்ச் மாதம் மஇகா தலைவர் தேர்தல் நடைபெறுகிறது. அதே வேளை துணைத் தலைவர், மூன்று உதவித் தலைவர்கள், 23 மத்திய செயலவை உறுப்பினர்கள் ஆகியோருக்கான தேர்தல் செப்டம்பரில் நடத்தப்படும்.

கட்சித் தலைவர் பதவியை தாம் தக்க வைத்துக் கொள்ளப் போவதாக சாமிவேலு ஏற்கனவே அறிவித்துள்ளார், இப்பதவிக்குப் போட்டியிருக்காதென தொடக்கத்தில் எதிர்பார்க்கப்பட்டது.

ஆனால்  50 கிளைகளிடமிருந்து நியமனங்களை முத்துப் பழனியப்பன் பெற்றால், அப்பதவிக்கு சவால்  விடுக்கலாம்.

கட்சி விதியின்படி, தலைவர் பதவிக்குப் போட்டியிடும் ஒரு வேட்பாளர் 50 நியமனங்களைப் பெற வேண்டும்.

ஒவ்வொரு நியமனமும் ஒரு கிளையின் குழு உறுப்பினரால் முன்மொழியப்பட்டு, மேலும் ஐந்து குழு உறுப்பினர்களால் வழிமொழியப்பட வேண்டும்.

மஇகா தலைவரை தேர்ந்தெடுப்பதற்கு ஒவ்வொரு கிளையின் குழு உறுப்பினர்கள் தங்களது வாக்குகளைச் செலுத்துவர். தேசியப் பதவிகளை பொதுப் பேரவையில் கலந்து கொள்ளும் 1500 பேராளர்கள் முடிவு செய்வர்.

துணைத் தலைவர் பதவிக்குப் போட்டி

மற்றொரு பெர்னாமா செய்தி, துணைத் தலைவர் பதவிக்கான  போட்டி மீது கவனம் செலுத்தியது. இப்பதவிக்குப் பல தலைவர்கள் போட்டியிடலாமென எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.

மஇகாவின் அடுத்த தலைவராகுவதற்கு துணைத் தலைவர் பதவி மீது பலர் குறி வைத்துள்ளதாக மூத்த தலைவரும் கட்சி தலைமைச் செயலாளருமான  எம் மகாலிங்கம் கூறுகிறார்.

“ஆனால் இவர்கள், அடித்தட்டு உறுப்பினர்கள், அதாவது இளைஞர்கள் மற்றும் முதியவர்களின் ஆதரவை முதலில் பெற வேண்டியது அவசியம்,”என்றாரவர்.

1979ல், வி மாணிக்கவாசகம் காலமானதை தொடர்ந்து  இடைக்காலத் தலைவராகவும் 1981ல் தலைவராகவும் சாமிவேலு பொறுபேற்றார்.

முன்னாள் துணைத்தலைவர் எஸ் சுப்ரமணியம், நடப்பு துணைத் தலைவர் ஜி பழனிவேல், உதவித் தலைவர் எஸ் சோதிநாதன், தலைமைச் செயலாளர் டாக்டர் சுப்ரமணியம் ஆகியோர் துணைத் தலைவர் பதவிக்குப் போட்டியிடலாம் என எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.

ஆயினும்  “வளரும் நட்சத்திரமாக”  கருதப்படும் எம் சரவணன் இக்களத்தில் இறங்கும் சாத்தியம் நிராகரிக்கப்படவில்லை என்றும் கட்சிப் பார்வையாளர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர்.

“நான் யாரையும் பெயர் குறிப்பிட விரும்பவில்லை. இந்த ஒரே காரணத்துக்காக (பெயர் குறிப்பிட்ட) அவர்கள் சாமிவேலுவின் ஆதரவை பெறாது போகலாம். அவர்களது வாய்ப்புகளை நான் சீர்குலைக்க விரும்பவில்லை,” முத்துப்பழனியப்பன் இவ்வாறு குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.

இதனிடையே தமிழ் நேசன் - சாமிவேலுவுக்குச் சொந்தமானது - துணைத் தலைவர் பதவிக்கு சரவணன் போட்டியிடுவாரா என வினவும் கட்டுரையொன்றை இன்று வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.

Hello Guys, sorry for not updating my blog for the past 3 weeks. Just have been busy with Deepavali Celebration and some other important stuff. As everyone knows, I have been blogging about our nation’s first WiMAX service since it was rolled out on August 2008 by Packet One. And given that I am blogging about WiMAX and my blog content has a lot of technology reviews, last week few bloggers & I was invited by Packet One to test all the packages at their new office at Jalan Templer, Petaling Jaya.

The event started at 3.00p.m with touring the new Packet One building. The first visit was to view on how the networks are managed and to view what are the technologies involved behind the WiMAX services. Secondly we were brought to the staff recreation centre. At the moment they are only having a pool table and Foss ball. And since the office was not launched officially yet, there are few items lacking there. Such as Ogawa Massagers, they gym equipments and Sony Playstation 3. Even they have already fixed the plasma TV…;) Finally we were brought to the auditorium which accommodate 200++ people which was designed beautifully.

ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை பெட்டாலிங் ஜெயாவில் மெழுகுவத்தி ஏந்திய பேரணியின்போது போலீசார் செய்த குளறுபடிகளுக்காக உள்துறை அமைச்சர் சைட் அமிட் அல்பார் மன்னிப்பு கேட்க வேண்டும் என்று வலியுறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.

அந்தப் பேரணிக்கு ஏற்பாடு செய்த துப்புரவான, நியாயமான தேர்தலுக்காக போராடும் கூட்டு அமைப்பான பெர்ச, இன்று வெளியிட்ட அறிக்கை ஒன்றில் சிலாங்கூர் போலீஸ் தலைவர் காலிட் அபு பக்கார், “குளறுபடிகளில் தமக்குள்ள பொறுப்பை ஏற்று பதவி விலக வேண்டும்”, என்று கேட்டுக்கொண்டது.

“அமைதியாக ஒன்றுகூடியிருந்த குடிமக்களைக் கலைப்பதற்கு போலீசார், வழக்கத்துக்கு மாறான  முறையில் முயன்றது எங்களைத் திகைக்க வைக்கிறது.”

“வழக்கமாக,  நடவடிக்கை எடுப்பதற்குமுன், கூட்டம் ஐந்து நிமிடத்தில் கலைய வேண்டும் என்று நடவடிக்கைக்குப் பொறுப்பான போலீஸ் அதிகாரி உத்தரவிடுவார்”, என்று அந்த அறிக்கை  கூறியது. இன்று நாடாளுமன்ற வளாகத்தில் நடைபெற்ற செய்தியாளர் கூட்டத்தில் அவ்வறிக்கை விநியோகிக்கப்பட்டது.

அக்கூட்டத்தில்  ஜசெக நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் தெரெசா கொக், பேரணியில் கலந்து கொண்ட சிவிலியன் ஒருவர் காயமடைந்த சம்பவத்தை விவரித்தார்.

“53 வயது நிரம்பிய டியான் அப்துல்லாவை சில போலீஸ்காரர்கள் பின்புறத்திலிருந்து தாக்கியுள்ளனர். இதனால் அவர் கீழே விழுந்ததில் தலையின் பின்பக்கத்தில் காயம்பட்டது. அதற்கு பல தையல்கள் போட வேண்டியதாயிற்று”, என்று அவர் சொன்னார். காயமடைந்தவரின் புகைப்படத்தையும் அவர் காண்பித்தார்.

இன்னொரு எதிரணி நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் சுல்கிப்ளி அகமட் (பாஸ்- கோலா சிலாங்கூர்), ‘போலீசின் முரட்டுத்தனத்தை எதிர்பார்க்கவில்லை என்றார். அதற்காக உள்துறை அமைச்சர் மன்னிப்பு கேட்க வேண்டும் என்றாரவர்.

“பொதுமக்களிடையே அச்சத்தை ஏற்படுத்துவதுதான் போலீஸ் முரட்டுத்தனத்தின் நோக்கம் என்றால் அது எங்களின் போராட்ட உணர்வை எந்த வகையிலும் கலைக்கப்போவதில்லை”, என்றாரவர்.

ஜசெக தலைவர்கள்மீது “வன்முறையை” அனுமதித்ததற்காகவும் போலீஸ் தலைவரை அவர் சாடினார்.

அக்கூட்டத்தில் கலந்துகொண்ட வலைப்பதிவரான ஹரிஸ் இப்ராகிம், கடந்த நான்கு வாரங்களாக மெழுகுவத்தி ஏந்திய பேரணி நடைபெற்று வந்துள்ளது என்றார்.

இசா கைதிகள் அனைவரும் விடுவிக்கப்பட்டு அந்தக் கொடிய சட்டம் நீக்கப்படும்வரை அது தொடரும் என்று அவர் சூளுரைத்தார்.

“சிலாங்கூர் மாநில அரசும் இதில் கலந்துகொண்டு அதன் கொள்கையை ஆதரிக்கும் மக்களைப் பாதுகாக்க வேண்டும்”, என்று அவர் கேட்டுக்கொண்டார்.

நாடாளுமன்ற வளாகத்தில் இன்று காலை நடைபெற்ற இன்னொரு செய்தியாளர் கூட்டத்தில் கலந்துகொண்ட ஜசெக தலைவர் லிம் கிட் சியாங், “வீடியோ சாட்சியம் இருக்கின்றபோதிலும் பொதுமக்களிடம் பொய்யுரைத்த” போலீஸ் தலைவரைச் சாடினார்.

நேற்று காலிட்,  நாட்டுப்பண் பாடிக்கொண்டிருந்த நேரத்தில் போலீசார் கூட்டத்தைக் கலைத்தனர் என்று சொல்லப்பட்டதை மறுத்தார். ஆனால் ஒரு வீடியோ பதிவு வேறு விதமாகக் காட்டியது.

“அவர் ஒரு அப்பட்டமான பொய்யர். கையும் களவுமாக பிடிபட்டிருக்கிறார்.  நாட்டுப்பண் பாடிக்கொண்டிருந்தபோதுதான் போலீசார் கூட்டத்தைக் கலைத்துள்ளனர்”, என்று லிம் கூறினார்.

நாட்டில் “அடிப்படை பேச்சுரிமையை மீறியதற்கு” காலிட் பொறுப்பேற்க வேண்டும் என்று அந்த மூத்த அரசியல்வாதி கூறினார்.

“பொய் சொன்னதற்கு பொதுமக்களிடம் உடனடியாக அவர் மன்னிப்பு கேட்க வேண்டும்”, என்று லிம் கூறினார்.

அப்பேரணியில் 23 பேர் கைது செய்யப்பட்டனர், அவர்களில் 22 பேர் மறுநாள் காலை விடுவிக்கப்பட்டனர். ஒரே ஒருவர் வேறு வழக்குகளின் தொடர்பில் விசாரணைக்காகத் தடுத்து வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

The numbers we all use (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.) are known as “Arabic ” numbers to distinguish them from the “Roman Numerals” (I, II, III, IV, V, VI, etc).
Actually the Arabs popularized these numbers but they were originally used by the early Phoenician traders to count and keep track of their trading accounts.
Have you ever thought why …….. 1 means “one”, and 2 means “two”? The roman numerals are easy to understand but what was the logic behind the Phoenician numbers?

It’s all about angles !

It’s the number of angles. If one writes the numbers down (see below) on a piece of paper in their older forms, one quickly sees why. I have marked the angles with “o”s.

No 1 has one angle.
No 2 has two angles.
No 3 has three angles.
etc. and “O” has no angles

Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said the opposition Pakatan Rakyat is treading very carefully towards forming the federal government, lest certain quarters be provoked to completely suspend the country’s system of democracy.

He said the suspension of Parliament and the state of emergency called - and since then still technically in place - after the wins by the opposition in the May 1969 general election offer sombre lessons for those seeking drastic change.

Khalid said that while Anwar Ibrahim, who is parliamentary opposition leader and PKR de facto head, harbours strong ambitions of leading the change of government, he is also painfully aware that such moves could lead to a change in the very system of governance itself.

“We are (still) working towards it. Anwar is very careful - we have to be very careful. Because any rushed action may end up in curtailing the democratic process. We do know Malaysia had that experience in 1969,” he told MalaysiaIndru editor Ji Wi Kathaiah in a recent interview.

“It is not in our interests that by seeking to acquire government, people are deprived of democracy,” he added.

“He has got an idealism such that if you can get to rule the federal government, it would be better,” Khalid added in reference to the five Pakatan-led states.

“But I am of the opinion that we have to be careful, that by taking over government, you do not trade in democracy,” he stressed.

Sept 16 deadline missed

Anwar, formerly the deputy premier and finance minister, has declared he had enough supporters from the ruling BN coalition to topple its government.

Pakatan Rakyat, which controls 81 parliamentary seats, needs another 31 MPs for a simple majority to form the federal government.

Always enjoyable and ambiguous “media reports” coming out of Malaysia have Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi bragging that Google plans to build the world’s largest data center in his country.

That’s great news, right?

Uh, well sort of. Malaysia can expect to see upwards of $600m in hardware, software and construction services roll into town, which is nice. After that, though, Google usually employs only 200 workers at its largest data centers. Double that total for the “world’s biggest” ad serving sweatshop, and you’re looking at 400 workers getting paid to plug things in and mop the floor.

“They want to make their presence felt in Malaysia. It will be a big boost for our ICT (information and communications technology) industry,” Abdullah told journalists at the World Economic Forum in Davos, according to reports. Other reporters have Google taunting India and Vietnam as well with the prospect of inheriting the world’s biggest data center. So Malaysia will need to do some serious groveling and offer sweet tax breaks to make sure they win the center from their Asian rivals. Give Oklahoma or Iowa a ring to see how it’s done.

It used to be pretty sweet when a big company came to town, looking to build a massive factory. Hundreds if not thousands of workers stood to benefit. Sadly, it takes a lot less man power to plant a text ad near a search result.

Just how interesting will life get for the middle class as the Information Age really takes hold?
